Dual advantage of DNA polymerase from Pyrococcus furiosus and Thermus aquaticus
AMP™ EF-Taq DNA Polymerase is ideal for long-ranged PCR of up to 40 kb. This enzyme is optimized with a proper blend ratio of two enzymes, Pyrococcus furiosus and Thermus aquaticus, making dual advantages. It has a lower error rate (approximately four times less) compared to the AMP™ Taq DNA Polymerase due to its 3’ to 5’ exonuclease activity for proof-reading, and also enables the user to get a large amount of PCR product due to its greater processivity than that of other Taq polymerase. AMP™ EF-Taq DNA Polymerase generates sufficient product with an A overhang, (eliminating the need to add A overhangs post PCR) to apply TA cloning of PCR product directly. AMP™ EF-Taq DNA Polymerase is useful for amplification which is required for higher sensitivity and productivity in long-range PCR. The optional 5x Band Doctor™ helps amplification of difficult PCR caused by high GC content or complex template structure.
